These terms apply to stlfse.com and the free resources on it, including the Owner’s Toolbox, the Owner’s Binder, the Kitchen Opening Playbook and our guides, operated by STL Food Service Equipment LLC (“STLFSE,” “we,” “us”). By using the site, you agree to these terms.
Using the site
You may use the site and its free resources for your own business. Don’t misuse the site: no breaking in, bulk scraping, or interfering with how it works.
Free tools and printables
- Owner’s Toolbox. The Toolbox’s source code is open source under the MIT License. You may use, copy and change the code under that license, keeping its copyright notice.
- Owner’s Binder and printables. You may print, copy and adapt the checklists, logs and procedures for use in your own restaurant and share them with your staff. Please don’t sell them or republish them as your own. When you share them outside your business, keep the STLFSE name on them.
- Results are estimates. Tool results depend on the numbers you enter and on general rules of thumb. Check them before making financial, purchasing, staffing or pricing decisions.
- Tools by others. Our directory links to free tools made by other people and companies. We list them for convenience and with credit; we don’t control them and aren’t responsible for them.
Information, not professional advice
Our guides, checklists, tools, videos and articles are general information. They are not legal, financial, tax, electrical, plumbing, gas, fire-safety or code advice. Food safety, building, fire, wage and tip rules vary by location. Confirm requirements with your local health department, building department, fire marshal, licensed contractors and qualified advisors before you buy, install, change or rely on anything.
Kitchen Opening Playbook accounts
The Kitchen Opening Playbook is for adults 18 and older. Give accurate sign-up information and keep your access to yourself. We may suspend access that is misused.
Equipment sales
- Prices, availability and product details can change without notice, and we may correct errors at any time.
- Online store orders are also governed by the store’s Terms of Service, Refund Policy and Shipping Policy.
- Used equipment is sold as-is unless we give you a written warranty at the time of sale.
- Extended warranties and protection plans come from third parties, and their terms are between you and that provider.

Linked sites, such as our store, YouTube, Facebook and tools by others, have their own terms and privacy policies. We aren’t responsible for their content or practices.

The site and its resources are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, including accuracy of tool results. To the fullest extent the law allows, STLFSE is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, lost profits or business interruption arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content.
