Accessibility

STL Food Service Equipment LLC wants every restaurant owner and worker to be able to use stlfse.com and our free resources, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification or other assistive technology.

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These are the guidelines the U.S. Department of Justice points businesses to for accessible websites.

What we’ve done

  • Text and buttons meet WCAG color contrast levels, and nothing relies on color alone.
  • Every page works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
  • Pages use real headings, labels and landmarks so screen readers can move around them.
  • The Owner’s Toolbox announces results to screen readers, labels every box, and flags entries that aren’t numbers.
  • Pages reflow on small screens and when zoomed to 200%, without sideways scrolling.
  • Animations are reduced when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • The Owner’s Binder PDF is tagged, with a title, language and bookmarks, so screen readers can read it in order.
  • A language switcher translates pages for owners who read other languages best.

Known limits

  • The printable logs and checklists in the Binder are fill-in forms meant for paper. If you need any page in another format, email us and we’ll send it.
  • Sites we link to, such as YouTube, Facebook, our online store and tools by others, are run by other companies.
  • Machine translation may not always be accurate.

Tell us about a barrier

If something on our site is hard to use, email heard@stlfse.com with the page and the problem. We’ll reply within 5 business days and work with you to get you the information another way while we fix it.
